The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ)

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is at the forefront of the news revolution. Their programs empower journalists and engage citizens with new technologies and best practices. ICFJ’s networks of reporters and media entrepreneurs are transforming the field. Over the past 33 years, ICFJ has worked with more than 100,000 professional and citizen journalists and media managers from 180 countries.

The ICFJ launch news organizations, media associations, journalism schools and news products. They have formed networks of citizen journalists who are using new mobile services to engage underserved communities in India, Indonesia and Ghana. They help journalists aggregate data for digital maps that they can use to track pollution in the Amazon rainforest. They have organized the first African News Innovation Challenge to solve digital bottlenecks and create new applications for use in newsrooms across the continent.
