Trevor Snapp is a co-founder of Gisa Group, a media research and development non-profit where he designs community-led media initiatives with a big impact. He is also a director and journalist with over a decade of global experience telling stories in challenging contexts. Trevor produces and directs films for Al Jazeera, the New York Times, Vice, and Arte. His VR documentary 'We Who Remain' won the SIFF award for Best VR Experience. As a photojournalist he has covered coups in Honduras, the Libyan uprising, and Mogadishu beach culture. Trevor is currently working to build the ecosystem for immersive media in East Africa. He excels in exploring ways emerging technology can solve problems and tell better stories. With years of experience living and working throughout the world he understands how culture connects and separates us, and the power of story.
