Rabie Barakat
Lecturer in Media Studies
Rabie Barakat is the Journalism and Communication Training Program coordinator at AUB’s Continuing Education Center (CEC) and a part-time lecturer at AUB’s Media Studies Program. Barakat holds a PhD in media and politics from the University of Edinburgh and has worked in the field of print and visual media since 2004 in Lebanese and Arab outlets as an editor, field reporter, bulletin producer, news presenter and talkshow anchor. His journalistic experience includes heading the Opinion Section of the Lebanese newspaper al-Safir (2014-2016) and broadcasting from conflict zones (Gaza in 2008-2009 and Libya in 2011).
