Assistant Professor - Doha institute for Graduate Studies
Tamimi has been an Assistant Professor in the Journalism Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies since 2017. He holds a PhD from the University of West London and has more than 25 years of professional and academic experience. He has worked with a number of leading media outlets, including the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" in London, the Arab TV Radio Network "ART" in Jeddah, Cairo and Amman, and The New Arab in London. Throughout this career, he covered many political and economic events around the world, and participated in a series of television discussions related to MENA region affairs. Tamimi is a weekly columnist at The New Arab and discusses Arab and international public affairs. He curently works on studies related to the new media and its relationship to the public sphere and political participation, as well as the new methods and tools that guide public opinion.
