Drew co-founded the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Program (OCCRP) in 2007 where he serves as editor. OCCRP is a global journalism platform comprised of 45 investigative centers and networks that has won over 100 journalism awards for its work. Before that, he founded and edited the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN), the leading investigative center in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in 2004. He founded the Journalism Development Network, an innovative media development organization with programs worldwide. As a journalist, he led a team of reporters looking at corruption by the Bosnian prime minister which led to his eventual indictment and resignation. Under his direction, OCCRP has won the Daniel Pearl Award, the Online Journalism Award, the Global Shining Light Award, the Tom Renner award for Crime Reporting, the European Press Prize and dozens of others often multiple times. OCCRP’s work in the Panama Papers with the International Consortium of Investigative Reporters and 100 other media was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Journalism. Before coming to Europe, he was an investigative reporter for The Tennessean newspaper and the Associated Press’s Special Assignment Team.
