"Bridget Gallagher is a fundraiser with more than 20 years’ experience, specializing in non-profit media, journalism and transparency & accountability work for the last dozen of those. Gallagher Group’s focus is rooted in Bridget’s work in this sector at the very beginning of the uptick in non-profit news organizations, just as donors began to respond to the opportunity for mission-driven organizations providing news and information. Between the Twitter-driven Tahrir Square uprising and the digitally disrupted business models of legacy media, donors’ understanding of journalism in preserving and promoting democracy grew, as did their interest in funding non-profit journalism projects and organizations. Bridget launched Gallagher Group in 2010 in response to a need among growing non-profit media organizations to navigate the donor universe, articulate their theories of change, and measure their impact. Gallagher Group now works with a variety of organizations fulfilling different roles in the mission-driven media landscape, from content producers (PBS, Mississippi Today) to collaborative content studios (Type Media Center, ICIJ) to media development/training & capacity-building organizations (Internews, GIJN, INN) to information access and press freedom organizations (Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, Bellingcat). With a lengthy track record of successfully cultivating gifts and grants from a variety of individual and institutional donors, Gallagher Group brings a working knowledge of the donor community’s priorities and processes to every project, helping clients make the best use of their time and resources and achieve the fundraising results they need."
