The ICFJ launch news organizations, media associations, journalism schools and news products. They have formed networks of citizen journalists who are using new mobile services to engage underserved communities in India, Indonesia and Ghana. They help journalists aggregate data for digital maps that they can use to track pollution in the Amazon rainforest. They have organized the first African News Innovation Challenge to solve digital bottlenecks and create new applications for use in newsrooms across the continent.

The policy framework for Swedish development cooperation and humanitarian assistance is a central document in Sweden’s aid policy and forms the point of departure for the Government’s management of Swedish aid. It addresses the principles and values that are to guide Swedish aid.

The Institute was founded by the country’s principal media associations: The Norwegian Union of Journalists, (Norsk Journalistlag); The Association of Norwegian Editors (Norsk Redaktørforening ) and The Norwegian Newspaper Publishers Association (Mediebedriftenes Landsforening).

Since 2003, Denmark has strengthened its efforts in the Middle East and North Africa as part of the general Danish foreign and development policy. The collaboration program was launched in 2003 as the Arab Initiative and will continue under the name Danish-Arab Partnership Program until 2022. At the core of the Program are the partnerships, where Danish organizations cooperate with similar organizations in the region. The purpose of the Danish-Arab Partnership Program is to promote good governance and secure economic opportunities. Denmark supports targeted efforts in the countries of Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan with one billion Danish kroner over five years from 2017 to 2022.

DW Akademie, part of Deutsche Welle, supports independent media, journalists and media consumers all over the world. Over 100 Million people have already benefitted from their programs. For instance, DW Akademie fosters media literacy through teaching in schools in the Palestinian territories, training citizen journalists in Kenya and supporting the peace process in Colombia.

As a strategic partner of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, DW Akademie carries out media development projects that strengthen the human right of freedom of opinion and promote free access to information. DW Akademie also works on projects funded by the German Foreign Ministry and the European Union—in approximately 50 developing and emerging democracies.
